News

2009 Exhibition Success

David was awarded "Best picture" at the photography exhibition at Sir Harold Hillier Gardens Romsey - see below for details.

Portsmouth Open Art exhibition

David has had two pictures accepted for inclusion in the Portsmouth Open Art exhibition.   over 300 artists with over 800 works being submitted. The exhibition at Portsmouth Museum (Museum Road, Portsmouth) runs from Saturday the 11th October 2008 until Sunday 4th January 2009.

June 28 2008 - David launches a new series of pictures - see Gallery 5 - a series of beautiful panoramic pictures that are larger than David's usual work. These can also be seen at a selection of the galleries listed below.

Competition success

On Friday 2nd May 2008, David won a competition run by The Holiday Inn Portsmouth, to provide a piece of local art to be displayed in their refurbished reception area. 4 short listed local artists are exhibiting their work over the bank holiday weekend 2nd May - 5th May 2008 and then David's picture will be moved to permanent display, for a year.

"AN EYE ON THE WORLD" - PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION
Sat 2 Feb to Sun 2 March - 10am to 5pm
A stunning exhibition of photography featuring land and seascapes, wildlife, fauna, flora and fauna from all four corners of our planet. Framed and unframed images for sale. Held indoors at the Visitor Pavilion.

May 26th - June 22nd 2008 -  At Between Dreams (see below for contact details and website address) "Mountains and Water" showcasing his latest work of the dramatic Irish coast.

October 2007 - an exhibition of completely new work will be shown for the whole month at The Queen Elizabeth Country Park, Petersfield, Hampshire. See their website for opening times.

September 2007 - David's work was chosen for the first exhibition at the refurbished Stubbington Library. See the library website for opening times.

There is work in progress in illustrating a poetry book. This is unusual in that I have never met the poet as she lives in Canada! I am still producing new themes and work and when ready I will set up an exhibition and advertise it here, so return at intervals to check.

Exhibitions long since Past

  • Joint exhibition Oxo Building South Bank London 1999 and in Richmond Virginia USA.
  • Joint exhibition, with one other, at the Guildhall Winchester February 2001. 56 images.
  • Exhibition, with two others, at Salisbury Playhouse September 2001. 22 images.
  • Exhibition, with two others, at Bedales Gallery Petersfield November 2001, supported by Southern Arts. 30 images April 2002 Exhibition, Solo, at the Unisis Building, Bournemouth 25 images
  • October 2002 Exhibition at the Hereford Festival of Photography supported by Southern Arts. My work consists of 16 images and was on view for one month in Hereford Cathedral and other venues later.
  • 2001 onward, Core artist at the Beatrice Royal Gallery Eastleigh, the UK's largest independent art gallery, which has now sadly closed.
  • Winchester Guildhall - September 2004 - " I visited your wonderful exhibition at the Winchester Guildhall Gallery today and was quite bowled over by the pictures.   They have such delicacy and certainly make photography into a real art form. "
